It seems we’re going to remember this week for all the wrong reasons, what with Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris confirming their split, and more rumours bouncing around that Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid may have called it quits.

Now, Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama have announced that they've decided to end their romance after six years together.

Both shared the news on Instagram, posting a note which read: “After almost 6 loving and wonderful years together, we have decided to end our relationship.

“This was an incrediblydifficult decision for both of us, but we have realized more than anything that we are better as best friends. We will always be supportive of one another.

“Thank you to everyone who has offered us kindness and support over the years. With only love, Wilmer & Demi”.
