Demi Lovato has been forced to apologise for comments her mum made about the Zika virus.
The singer outraged fans by sharing a clip of Dianna Hart on her Snapchat story, making light of the deadly virus which can cause birth defects in babies.
Dianna said: "Everybody down in Rio gonna get the Zika virus."
Demi could be heard giggling away in the background and captioned the Snap with laughing emojis.
Demi took to Twitter to defend herself as #demilovatoisoverparty started trending.
She tweeted: "In no way did I mean to offend anyone last night. I was laughing at how southern my mom sounded, not the issue at hand. Deepest apologies."
She added: "If you watch everything I do, you're still a fan.. I ain't goin nowhere b***hes."
