Demi Lovato Is Reportedly Suffering 'Complications' From Overdose As 'Blamed' Backing Dancer Breaks Silence
Demi's backing dancer, Dani Vitale, has asked fans to stop directing negativity at those who care for Demi.
Last week it was reported that Demi Lovato was rushed to hospital following a suspected drug overdose, and a source claims the star remains hospitalised at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles six days later.
According to TMZ's insider, the 'Tell Me You Love Me' singer is suffering "complications" relating to the overdose, including extreme nausea and a high fever.
They claim that Demi's doctors have not made a decision on when she will be released from hospital, but: "She is under the care of medical experts and is expected to make a full recovery."
The update on Demi's recovery comes as her backing dancing, who has been accused by many of her followers of being behind the incident, breaks her silence.
Dani Vitale penned an open letter insisting that she was not with the 'Sorry Not Sorry' singer when it happened, but she is by her side now.
She wrote: "I care about Demi just like all of you do. I have not said anything about this situation until now because her recovery has been of the most importance."
"I was not with Demi when the incident happened, but I am with her now, and will continue to be because she means the world to me just as she does to all of you," she added.
She continued: "Like all of you, I have nothing but love in my heart for her. There is no need for any negativity towards the ones who care about Demi at this time. There is too much of it in this world as it is."
The dancer then urged people to think twice before taking out their phones and typing.
