Demi Lovato On Neon Lights Tour: 'It’s Girl Empowerment'
“Everyone is a power vocalist” she says of tour mates Little Mix and Cher Lloyd…
Pop princess Demi Lovato recently announced that Brit stars Little Mix and Cher Lloyd would be joining her on her Neon Lights US tour, and the singer has since opened up about the line-up, labeling it “girl empowerment.”
Speaking to Billboard, the Heart Attack singer revealed: "It's girl empowerment. I helped put together [fellow support act] Fifth Harmony, and a year later they're on the charts, so I'm really happy for them. It's surreal.”
She added: “Everyone [in the groups] is a power vocalist - they can all sing - so I love the idea of the show."
X Factor USA judge Demi also discussed her plans for the Neon Lights live shows, saying she wants fans to hear a good mix of hits and album tracks and to feel like the gig is “a big party.”
The 21-year-old continued: "I want it to be a big party, but I don't want to exclude any demographics by making it all pop hits. I'm in the process of figuring it out, and because I play instruments, it comes easier than if I didn't.”
“If I do it right, I'll get in all the hits and the songs that I'm most proud of that represent my style - Heart Attack and In Case, which is just me and a piano … That's the message I want people to hear, that there's more than catchy songs released as singles.”
2013 has been a big year for Lovato – as well as having her album, tour and X Factor USA commitments to deal with, the starlet is also releasing a book entitled Staying Strong and guest starring on the current season of Glee.
