Demi Lovato Praises Kesha For ‘Coming Forward’ About Dr Luke Allegations

“We have to support each other”.

Demi Lovato has had her say to praise ‘brave’ Kesha for speaking out on the allegations she has made against producer Dr Luke.

The singer, who’s graced the cover of Latina magazine’s June/July issue, talked about the controversial lawsuit that has seen Kesha denied the freedom to release music away from the man she has accused of sexual assault.

Demi revealed that she felt female artists need to ‘support each other’ as she told the mag: “It wasn’t so much about Dr Luke, that’s not my business what happened or what may have not have happened.

“The important thing for me is that people are so afraid to come forward when they are sexually abused or raped because 1) it’s not something that’s easy to prove so you don’t want to go through the whole process and it drags it out.

“[And] 2) Because it’s hard to prove. People are so quick to dispel the rumours or not believe you and therefore nobody’s coming forward and change is only happening in a worse sense."

While Kesha is still technically tied to her recording contract with Dr Luke, she has been able to make a triumphant return to music thanks to her friend and producer Zedd.

Their single True Colours is out now and features fitting lyrics that could seem to reference Kesha’s lawsuit.
