Demi Lovato Reportedly Left Rehab But For A Very Good Reason
The singer is said to be "doing okay" as she meets with a psychiatrist in Chicago...
Demi Lovato has temporarily checked out of rehab, it has been reported.
The pop superstar recently entered an in-patient facility after suffering a suspected overdose that left her in hospital for almost two whole weeks.
Now it has been revealed that she has briefly left the center to meet with a psychiatrist in Chicago, accompanied by her mum Dianna De La Garza.
PEOPLE confirm that she has flown to meet with a psychiatrist who specialises in mental health and sobriety for several days before she returns to rehab.
“She’s in the midst of recovery,” a source said. “It’s going to be a long road, and Demi knows that. Emotionally, it hasn’t been easy, but she’s doing okay.”
This update comes after Demi broke her silence last week by releasing a statement via Instagram, admitting that she did in fact relapse and is focused on her sobriety.
“I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery," she wrote in the candid letter, which addressed her battle with addiction.
The 'Solo' singer also expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of support and love that she has received in the past few weeks since the news of her overdose first broke.
"The love you have all shown me will never be forgotten and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side.”
We wish Demi all of the best on her journey back to full health and send all of the love her way.
