Demi Lovato's Backing Dancer Dani Vitale Denies Giving Her Drugs In Heartbreaking Statement
Dani Vitale opened up in an emotional Instagram post.
Demi Lovato's backing dancer and close friend, Dani Vitale, has vehemently denied giving her drugs in an emotional Instagram post.
Dani's statement comes after a false story began circulating that she had supplied the 'Sorry Not Sorry' singer with the drugs prior to her overdose.
Her Instagram post detailed the emotional distress everything she was reading online caused her, and she admitted she was unable to leave the house and "ridden with severe depression, fear, anxiety, sadness, anger, disgust and numbness" for three weeks.
Dani completely denied being involved with drugs in any way, writing: "I have never TOUCHED nor even SEEN a drug in my entire life. I DO NOT DO DRUGS, nor would I ever encourage, or supply them to anyone I love."
She went on to explained how people treated her differently as a result of the story, writing: "People that I thought loved me were no where to be found or heard from, companies stopped replying [to] emails and I was alone."
This isn't the first time Dani has been forced to defend herself against false allegations, as she took to social media in July to insist she wasn't with Demi when her overdose occurred.
"I care about Demi just like all of you do. I have not said anything about this situation until now because her recovery has been of the most importance," she wrote.
"I was not with Demi when the incident happened, but I am with her now, and will continue to be because she means the world to me just as she does to all of you," she added.
She continued: "Like all of you, I have nothing but love in my heart for her. There is no need for any negativity towards the ones who care about Demi at this time. There is too much of it in this world as it is."
The dancer then urged people to think twice before taking out their phones and typing.
Dani is completely right that someone's words online can have crippling consequences for the person they're about, especially if completely untrue.
One thing we do know for certain is that Demi is turning 26 today, so we'll use our words wisely by wishing her a very happy birthday and our continued well wishes with her recovery.
