Demi Lovato’s Little Sister Madison De La Garza Shares Emotional Message For Her On Her Birthday
Demi is currently in recovery from an apparent overdose.
Demi Lovato turned 26 this week, and her family are counting their blessings on what could have been “one of the worst days” for them.
Taking to Insta to share a throwback snap of the pair, Demi’s sister Madison De La Garza told followers that she’s “thankful” the singer is now on the road to recovery, after she suffered from an apparent overdose just weeks before.
“Today could have been one of the worst days of my life. But instead I get to spend it thanking God, the incredible doctors, Demi’s team, and everyone across the world who offered their support.” she wrote.
Madison continued: “Without all of these people i wouldn’t have my big sister anymore.”
The powerful message continued with: “I’ve been thinking about how I wish that everyone could see the silly little things that she does, like how her nostrils move when she says certain words and when she brushes my hair behind my ear when I’m trying to sleep, because those are the things I’m thankful for today.”
She shared some real family moments, and that’s what makes the post so important.
Madison says it herself: “They seem so small, but those little things make up my sister - not a singer, not a celebrity, and definitely not what she's been described as in the media.”
She wrapped up the post by wishing her big sister a happy birthday: “She's a daughter, a friend, and my big sister... and I am so, so thankful that I can tell her happy birthday. #happybirthdaydemi".
Demi is currently on her way to a full recovery according to E!, having checked into rehab where she’ll remain for multiple months.
