Here's When You'll Be Able To Play Destiny 2... And This Time It'll Be More 'Casual'
Here are all the deets...
Destiny 2 will released this coming autumn, Activision has confirmed.
The follow-up to the smash sci-fi shooter intends to focus on a great cinematic story that’s as accessible to newbies as it is Destiny veterans (although it remains unclear whether or not committed fans can take their Guardians with them when the new game rolls out).
"The cornerstone of that is a great cinematic story," said Activision’s Eric Hirshberg. "That's been a real focus with a great cast of memorable, relatable characters, coupled with some very nice ways to make the game more accessible to a casual player, without losing anything that our core players love.
"We've made it more accessible to someone who just wants to have a great more casual first-person action experience."
The sequel was initially slated for September 2016, but was delayed when developer Bungie - quite literally - went back to the storyboard to rework the shooter’s story.
In the call, the publisher also detailed "follow-on content plans" which "set the stage for growth", which hints at a continuation of Destiny 1’s expansion packs.
