Devlin: 'I’ll Save The Guetta Collabos For Nicki Minaj'
EXCLUSIVE! Rewind MC says he will never compromise his music...
Speaking exclusively to MTV.co.uk, the 23-year-old rapper explained that he doesn't feel like he has compromised his music in return for chart success, stating: "The lyrics I’ve spat are true. I would have spat them on any beat.
"All that’s changed, is that in a single, we’ll get a female singer and we’ll make the beat sound a bit nicer, for instance, in Runaway. But if you listen to what I’m saying, that’s just what I’ve been doing for years.
"To a degree, you’ve got to play the game for singles, but there’s nothing that I’ve spat where I feel like I’ve compromised.”
He went on to add: “You’ll never catch me on a dance tune… never in a million years. I’ll save the David Guetta collaborations for Nicki Minaj!”
While on the subject of his music, the Dagenham-born artist also revealed he's hoping to emulate the success of his debut album Bud, Sweat and Beers with the follow-up, A Moving Picture.
Speaking of his debut, which achieved Gold status, Dev said: "If I can match the success of Bud, Sweat and Beers or if we can do slightly better and if I get another gold plaque, I’ll be over the moon."
Devlin’s sophomore album, A Moving Picture - which is on course for a top 10 chart position this weekend - is out now!
