A Taiwanese man has died after playing computer game Diablo III for 40 hours without a break.
CVG Australia reports that the 18-year-old - named only as Chuang - had booked into a private room in an internet cafe at lunchtime on Friday for his mammoth session, during which he did not eat or sleep.
An employee of the cafe checked on him on Sunday morning and found him resting on the table. He then woke up and took a few steps before collapsing. He was taken to hospital, but died before he arrived.
Blizzard Entertainment issued a statement which read: "We're saddened to hear this news, and our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time. We don't feel it would be appropriate for us to comment further without knowing all of the circumstances involved.
"While we recognise that it's ultimately up to each individual or their parent or guardian to determine playing habits, we feel that moderation is clearly important, and that a person's day-to-day life should take precedence over any form of entertainment."
The cause of death has not been determined, but a blood clot or cardiovascular problems are reportedly suspected by the authorities.
Another Taiwanese person died earlier this year after playing a game for 23 hours straight.
