Diana Vickers: "Cheryl & Simon Congratulated Me"

The Once star talks about being number 1...

Diana Vickers has revealed that a hoard of celebrities congratulated her following her reaching number 1 on Sunday.
The X Factor contestant, whose single Once knocked Usher & Will.I.Am's track OMG from the UK singles top spot received best wishes from X Factor judges Simon Cowell and her mentor Cheryl Cole, JLS and fellow former contestant Ruth Lorenzo.
Vickers told the Daily Record: "I have already had big congratulations from Simon and Cheryl as well as the JLS boys and Ruth Lorenzo, who were in the finals along with me. That was lovely. We are all here for each other as peers, so it's great."

The 18-year old added: "Simon is pleased for me. I am grateful to him because he pushed me on the show, and without his enthusiasm and belief I wouldn't have had the opportunity to do this."
Diana also revealed that she is confident that she can hold onto the top spot for a second week, despite tough competition from Usher and Roll Deep as well as Ranger FC fans who are campaigning on Facebook for Tina Turner's track The Best to chart at number 1.
Vickers said: "Good luck to them but I am so pleased to be number one. I hadn't heard about their Facebook group. I genuinely wish them luck but hopefully I'll stay at number one. It has been overwhelming."
Despite Diana being confident about holding onto the top spot, early figures have suggested that Usher could reclaim the poll position closely followed by UK rap collective Roll Deep in second place.
