FormerX Factor contestant Diana Vickers looks set to score her first number 1 single with her debut track, Once.

According to midweek figures, Vickers is outselling her nearest rivalChipmunk's duet with Alexandra Burke was mentored byGirls Aloudstar Cheryl Cole on the show back in 2008 which saw her cover hit songs from the likes of Avril Lavigneand Coldplay.

Vickers current chart triumph means that the UK's current number onePlan B looks set to loose the number 1 slot in the album chart to Paul Weller's latest LP, Wake Up Nation.
