Brie Larson will head up Marvel’s first female solo movie as Captain Marvel in March. It’s set pre-Avengers Infinity War – in the 1990s in fact – so we live inhope that Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel will kick butt in Skechers and take regular breaks to feed her Tamagotchi.

This Disney CGI x live action classic remakelooks utterly adorable and bound to have you in tears in the cinema. The Nightmare Before Christmas’s Tim Burton is directing, which means equal parts fairytale fantasy and gorge gothic lewks.

What Men Want (March 2019)

This gender-swapped remake of the iconic 2000 comedy What Women Want stars Taraji P Henson as a sports agent who is unfairly passed up for a deserved promotion but then gets an unexpected edge over her male colleagues when she gains the power to hear men’s inner thoughts. It comes from the producer of Girls Trip, and rounding out the cast are the hilarious Tracy Morgan and Phoebe Robinson, so expect big, raunchy LOL moments. One to see with your mates!

Kind of like Big-meets-Superman, Shazam! looks set to beone of the most fun DC movies we've seen yet. Following a teen boy who finds he can transform into an adult superhero just by saying the magic word, ‘Shazam’, this has potential to be the LOLsiest superhero movie of the year.

Avengers 4 (May 2019)

Info on the upcoming sequel to Avengers: Infinity War is SO tight that at time of writing, even the title for this Marvel movie hasn’tbeen announced. Following on from Infinity War’s shocking ending, and picking up where Thanos’s plan left off,this universe-spanningsuperhero blockbuster will be the culmination of all 22 connected films before it. It’s going to be the movie event of the year.

If you see one big movie this year, see Star Wars: Episode IX. If you see two, see Detective Pikachu. The absolutely bonkers upcoming film sees Pokemon infiltrate the real world, with none other than Mr Deadpool himself,Ryan Reynolds, voicing Detective Pikachuas you’ve NEVER seen the furry little electric Pokemon before! Another huge Disney remake coming in 2019 is the live-action Aladdin film. The film will star Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Power Rangers’ Naomi Scott as Jasmine and Will Smith will take on the iconic role of the Genie. The songs you love from the Disney animated movie will be in there, along with new ones being written by Disney legend Alan Menken, who co-wrote the original score, and and with the songwriters of Lala Land, Pasek & Paul, so you'll be keeping the soundtrack on repeat long after seeing it!

Godzilla: King Of The Monsters (May 2019)

Millie Bobby Brown joins Godzilla as the massive monster returns for his 35th (!) movie, promising more GREAT BIG MONSTER FIGHTS than ever before, with Godzilla now colliding with Mothra, his ultimate nemesis Rodan, and ‘three-headed’ King Ghidorah. 2020 will see the release of 'Godzilla vs Kong,' so you’re sorted for super-species combat for AT LEAST the next two years. Phew.

2019 is a HUGE year for the retun of beloved Disney movies, with Toy Story 4 bringing Woody, Buzz and co back after the emotional third movie, AND with the promise of NEW TOYS.Say hello to Forky: a new member of the gang who, erm, may be more cutlery than toy?We’ll find out when the film hits the cinema in the summer.

Spider-Man: Far From Home (July 2019)

Spidey’s swinging back into cinemas for the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming and we can’t WAIT to see Tom Holland back as the cutest Avenger (sorry, Baby Groot). The sequelwill follow Peter Parker and friends as they leave their native New York on a summer holiday to Europe. Jake Gyllenhaal joins as supervillain Mysterio, while Michael Keaton will return as baddie The Vulture from the first film.

The Lion King (July 2019)

It’s easy to think of this as a live-action remake of the 1994 Disney classic, but it’s actually beautiful, detailed CGI, in the style of 2016’s The Jungle Book. The amazing-looking film will star Chiwetel Ejiofor, Donald Glover, Seth Rogen AND Beyoncé! Whether we’ll see Timon and Pumba perform the hula in super-glossy CGI remains to be seen.

The New Mutants (August 2019)

A new superhero movie in the X-Men universe with a distinctly horror twist, The New Mutants follows a young group of mutants held in a top secret facility. Its set to be super scary: look no further than the film’s creepy AF first trailer. It stars Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy and Charlie Heaton, so get ready to stan.

Angry Birds 2 (August 2019)

The Angry Birds will return in 2019 for a sequel to 2016’s The Angry Birds Movie.Plot details are thin so far, but with Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Bill Hader and Peter Dinklage set to return as said AngryBirds, we can expect lols just as explosive as the game when the colourful animation flies into cinemas.

Get ready to be FREAKED THE F*CK OUT again in 2019 as the sequel to 2017’s It spooks the cinema. Set 27 years after the previous film, the Losers Club will now be adults, with Pennywise terrorising the gang this time played by a cast including James McAvoy and Jessica Chastain.

Charlie’s Angels (November 2019)

It’s gonna be a massive year for remakes: The Angels are back on the big screen for the reboot of the action comedy franchise we last saw headed up by Cameron Diaz, Lucy Lio and Drew Barrymore. 2019’s going to be huge for Aladdin star Naomi Scott, as she’s starring in this massive remake, alongside superstar Kristen Stewart and relative newcomer Ella Balinska.

Frozen 2 (November 2019)

We’ll return to Arendelle in 2019, with the hugely anticipated Frozen 2 slated for release in November.Kristen Bell, who voices Anna, has said when speaking about the sequel’s script that, “they didn't want another quote unquote 'episode' ofFrozen,” and that this is"a story that needs to be told". We’ve got shivers down our spines already.

Star Wars: Episode IX (December 2019)

Details of the third and final Star Wars film in the recent trilogy are strictly under wraps, but we do know that with The Force Awakens’ JJ Abrams directing and Rey, Finn, Kylo Ren, and co returning for the epic conclusion to the saga, it’s going to be one cinema event NOT to be missed.
