Dizzee Rascal Live
MTV News caught the UKs best rapper supporting Babyshambles at Wembley
London City! is Dizzee Rascals most frequent cry and of course he says it a few times while gracing the Wembley Arena stage tonight.
In support of Pete Dohertys Babyshambles, Diz keeps it simple running through all his hits in half an hour. The indie crowd is mostly appreciative too proving the gap between rock and rap kids aint as wide as it used to be.
He starts with the closest thing he has to a signature tune- Fix Up, Look Sharp- which the audience love. Strangely for such a huge venue the sound for Dizzee is good with each of the rappers words and Semtexs beats clear.
After a snatch of Happy Talk, Sirens- the lead single from Maths And English blares out with its harsh beats and guitars. From there were treated to Stand Up Tall and classics from Boy In Da Corner- I Luv You and Jus A Rascal.
But lets not forget why Maths And English is one of the albums of the year. Dizzee plays his explicit diss Old School with its rave beat and shout along chorus (P***yhole!).
New single Flex gets better with every listen and is hard not love when Dizzee and his hype man do the running man tonight. The whole crowd even shouts the chorus back to the rapper: Slow, Fast, Up, Down, Bring It Back.
