Dizzee Rascal Thrown Off British Airways Flight
He could face a lifetime ban…
Dizzee Rascalwas removed from a British Airways plane on 9 July for allegedly abusing a stewardess.
The Sun reports that the Bonkers star was boarding a flight to Portugal for a gig when he got fed up with long delays, caused by a technical problem, which meant the plane was due to take off three hours later than scheduled. When the flight was finally close to leaving, Dizzee apparently launched a “foul mouthed tirade” one of the onboard flight attendants.
As is BA policy, the rapper was escorted off the plane and was forced to cancel his performance at the Optimus Alive Festival in Portugal. A police spokesperson confirmed that they attended the scene but no arrests were made.
A witness is quoted as saying: "Dizzee was getting very angry and it was taking so long to take off. Then he threw a tantrum with staff, and passengers were told something was wrong.
"After the incident his band members were still on the flight. They started kicking off too, shouting that they couldn't play without him because he'd been thrown off."
Now, according to the report, the Fix Up Look Sharp hitmaker could face a lifetime ban as British Airways has a no tolerance policy to customers who abuse their staff.
A rep for the star told The Sun: "He was disappointed not to be able to perform."
