Daniele Watts is being charged with lewd conduct after allegedly being caught having sex in a car.

The 28-year-old caused controversy when she accused the LAPD of racial profiling, with her BF claiming cops had assumed she was a prostitute and he was a "trick".

However a civil rights group which had supported her later demanded that she make a public apology when more witness accounts of the incident had emerged.

They had allegedly been having sex in a car in broad daylight in Studio City, Los Angeles, on 11 September.

Reuters reports that Watts and BF Brian Lucas could now face six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
