DMX Back In Jail
He was allegedly in possession of cocaine…
DMX has been arrested and refused bail after violating his probation.
The rapper was taken into custody in Arizona for seven probation violations, after failing to check in with his probation officer. According to court documents, the troubled star, real name Earl Simmons, was in possession of Oxycontin without a prescription, failed to submit to drug testing and counselling programmes, and was driving on a suspended licence. He was also allegedly in possession of cocaine.
"Mr Simmons has several felony convictions and has been given multiple opportunities to succeed on probation," the court statement read. "He has been directed to treatment, as well as chose his own treatment programme, and continues to use illegal drugs following these opportunities."
The We Right Here star has already been jailed twice this year and has a long list of arrests behind him, for crimes including weapons possession, drugs possession and animal cruelty.
His manager Nakia Walker said the star was going through a rough patch. “He's not perfect. This is a difficult time in his life. He's going through some things,” she said. “I can't tell you why he makes the decisions to do the things that he does. Other than that, there's no real excuse for it. When you don't follow the rules, there's consequences.”
DMX is due in court to face sentencing on 24 November.
