Do the Green Thing!
MTV wants you to help kick climate change’s arse…
Saturday, August 1, 2009 - 02:30
MTV is proud to support Do the Green Thing; an initiative calling for people to make small, simple changes to help tackle climate change.
Joining forces with the likes of The Noisettes, Daniel Merriweather, We Are Scientists and to a lesser extent Justin Hawkins, MTV are fully on-board the Green Thing movement and want you to be too.
Do the Green Thing, which is supported by the likes of Nokia, Microsoft, MySpace, Nike, Yahoo and Spotify, isn’t about preaching or scaremongering; it’s about encouraging lots of small actions that add up to a big change. Actions such as these:
1. You can get from A to B without any C when you Walk The Walk. Or cycle. Or skateboard.
2. It’s delicious but it causes more CO2 than cars so go down your carnivorous cravings and go Easy On The Meat.
3. Resist the urge to buy the latest and Stick With What You Got. Retro is the new cool.
