BBC Confirms Missing Doctor Who Episodes Found

Early episodes of sci-fi drama were 'lost' after tapes were wiped...

The BBC has confirmed that a number of missing early episodes of Doctor Who have been rediscovered.
BBC Worldwide is expected to release full details of the "lost" programmes at a press event later this week.
A total of 106 episodes of the long-running sci-fi show are currently missing, because the corporation wiped the transmission tapes after they were broadcast.
Some have previously been recovered via foreign broadcasters who had kept the transfer tapes they had used to screen the show.
All the missing episodes feature the first two doctors - William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton.
The show is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, with [uuid=7b72c9a1-eda0-44bc-93f0-0c7732551b8c]a global simulcast planned[/uuid] for a special episode.
