Billie Piper To Return For Doctor Who Guest Spot?
Matt Smith says he wants Rose Tyler character in 50th anniversary special...
Speaking to The Sun, the 29-year-old said that Rose Tyler - played by Billie until 2010 - would be his pick of the crop to make a guest comeback.
He said: "If I wanted a companion from the past I would say Rose because I am good friends with Billie."
The new series of the BBC show begins on 1 September, but an internet-based mini-series will be aired in the days beforehand - covering the exploits of the Doctor's assistant Amy Pond, played by Karen Gillan.
Called Pond Life, the featurettes will also star Matt Smith and Arthur Darvill (as Rory).
Writer Chris Chibnall said: "Pond Life provides us with a lovely opportunity to catch up with Amy and Rory since we saw them at the end of the last series.
"It opens with the Ponds at home and gives us an insight to just what happens when the Doctor drops in and out of their lives. Travelling with the Doctor is one of the greatest things you can do, but it's fun to spend a few moments looking at the chaos he can also bring."
