Doctor Who Showrunner Hints At Ninth Series

Steven Moffat appears to confirm that there's already plans for a further series of sci-fi drama...

Doctor Who boss Steven Moffat seems to have let the cat out of the bag about a ninth series of Doctor Who, before it has been officially announced by the BBC.

The showrunner used his column in Doctor Who Magazine to tease fans about another run of the BBC show (since its modern reinvention), before series eight has even been broadcast.

He wrote: "Sitting here, right now, just before the finale shooting block, I've figured out the cliffhanger to the penultimate episode of the next series.

"And it's a whopper. Ohh, I don't think you'll see this coming!"

Moffat took over the reins on the show from Russell T Davies in 2009 and has overseen the transition from David Tennant to Matt Smith and most recently to Peter Capaldi.
