Doctor Who Trailer And Artwork Released

BBC gives fans a glimpse of sci-fi show's seventh season...

A trailer and artwork have been released by the BBC to promote the forthcoming seventh season of Doctor Who.
The dramatic artwork depicts a scene from the first episode of the new series - Asylum Of The Daleks - and shows the Doctor carrying the limp body of assistant Amy Pond through a room full of Daleks as flames rage around them.

And the 97-second trailer features scenes from the first four episodes of the new series.
As well as showing star Matt Smith facing a horde of Daleks, it also features clips from the Dinosaurs On A Spaceship episode and shows set in New York and in the wild west.

The show's more enthusiastic fans might be excited to see a selection of the different Daleks that the Doctor has faced over the years.

Sci-fi and fantasy site Dark Horizons said: "It looks like at least some of the classic series versions like the original Skaro grey, the imperial white, and the war machine version from 'Remembrance' will appear alongside the reboot series versions including the Eccleston/Tennant-era gold and the Smith-era multi-coloured take."
Released as part of the BBC's promotion of its autumn schedule, the trailer did not supply a date for the first episode - but September has been mentioned.
