Doctor Who's Daleks 'Invade' London

Londoners got a surprise early yesterday morning when Westminster Bridge was invaded by infamous Doctor Who villains the Daleks.

The evil sci-fi cyborgs were being filmed for a one-off special celebrating the show's 50th anniversary.

Called An Adventure In Time And Space, the show is a dramatisation of the Doctor Who's early years - and will be screened on BBC2 later in the year.

The Dalek scenes were a recreation of a famous 1964 episode called The Dalek Invasion of Earth, which saw the aliens rampaging through London.

Scripted by Mark Gatiss, the show features David Bradley as the late William Hartnell - the first actor to play the Doctor.

It was recently revealed that the 50th anniversary special episode would be filmed in 3D.
