Matt Smith: 'I Won't Be In Doctor Who Movie'
Doctor Who star Matt Smithhas stated that he does not expect to star in the planned big-screen adaptation of the show.
The 29-year-old actor told Collider that he thinks Hollywood timescales will rule out the possibility of him appearing as the timelord in the movie project.
He said: "I think it would take four or five years to get something like that off the ground, and I don't anticipate that I'll be playing the Doctor then.
"My skin and the aging process couldn't take it.
"For my money, whoever is playing the Doctor should be in the movie. I don't think there should be two Doctors."
The movie project is reportedly being helmed by Harry Potter director David Yates, but Smith insisted that current show boss Steven Moffat should write the movie.
He continued: "I don't see any reason why it couldn't work. I think they should get Steven to write it because he's the best."
The seventh series of Doctor Who (since the BBC re-booted it) is [uuid=cbc90baa-0e79-4206-8b89-219c4c592d6a]starting this Autumn[/uuid].
