Matt Smith Thanks Doctor Who Fans In Video Message
Departing star displays handwritten messages of gratitude...
The 30-year-old star of the long-running sci-fi show is leaving after this year's Christmas special - and has expressed his gratitude to everyone connected to "Doctor Who Land".
He begins the clip by holding up a succession of pieces of paper with written messages, thanking the show's crew, his co-stars Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill and Jenna-Louise Coleman and show boss Stephen Moffat.
And then he gives the "biggest thank you" to the show's fans and finally breaks his silence to describe the "marvellous journey" that the show has given him.
Speculation has been rife regarding Smith's successor in the Tardis, with Rory Kinnear reportedly the frontrunner for the job.
