Peter Capaldi: Jenna Coleman's Not Leaving Doctor Who
New star denies that his assistant is set to depart the show at Christmas...
Peter Capaldi has quashed rumours that his co-star Jenna Coleman will be leaving Doctor Who this year.
The new Doctor was making a guest appearance on The One Show yesterday evening when he dismissed the claims that his assistant Clara Oswald would be written out in the Christmas special.
"I'm not looking for a new assistant," he told Matt Baker and Alex Jones when asked.
"I don't know where these rumours have started. I've read she may be leaving at Christmas, but I don't even know if she'll get to Christmas, you'll have to watch it and see what happens."
And he only had praise for Coleman, adding: "She's been called upon to do things that I don't think any other companion has had to do, to show a kind of emotional range and I think she's done it absolutely brilliantly."
The new series arrives on BBC One tomorrow evening at 7.50pm. Have your cushions at the ready.
