Peter Capaldi has made his debut as Doctor Whoin this year's Christmas special - which saw Matt Smith bow out of the sci-fi drama.
Screened last night on BBC One, the festive episode titled The Time Of The Doctor ended with The Thick Of It star Capaldi taking over the controls of the Tardis.

Smith thanked fans for their support via Twitter, writing: "To the Whoniverse, thanks a million. You're the best. I'll miss you. And I'll miss the madness."
And show boss Steven Moffat tweeted a fond farewell to the star.
"Farewell to Matt Smith, citizen of the universe and a gentleman to boot. He'll be standing ready, should the cosmos ever need him again!"
