Peter Jackson: 'I Want To Direct Doctor Who'

The Hobbit filmmaker expresses interest in helming an episode of sci-fi drama...

Doctor Who.
TheThe Hobbit filmmaker wasn't playing hard to get at all when he broached the subject during an interview with the Waikato Times.
He said: "I'm a huge Doctor Who fan, and I think Matt [Smith]'s fantastic. Just name a time and place, and I'll be there!"
His comment to the New Zealand newspaper followed an interview it conducted with Matt Smith in which the star promised to lobby show bosses for an episode filmed down under.
Smith said: "I'm told it's glorious. I'm told it's quite similar to England. Let's get Peter Jackson to direct one and go and make it in New Zealand. I would love to, I will campaign endlessly to come over and film there.
"There's clearly a great film industry out there. It's something I would be very interested in it's just whether we can persuade the producers to fly us all over."
Jackson is a keen Doctor Who fan and cast former Timelord Sylvester McCoy in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
