Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman have appeared in a teaser trailer for the eighth series of Doctor Who.

The new Time Lord is mostly in silhouette in the 20-second snippet and appears to be disorientated.

He asks: "Clara, be my pal and tell me - am I good man?"

To which Coleman's character Clara Oswald replies hesitantly: "I don't think I know who The Doctor is anymore."

And fans have less than two months to see the Tardis' new master in action, because the BBC has revealed that the first episode of the new series will be shown on 23 August.
