Dolly Parton To Adopt Abandoned Glastonbury Dog
9 to 5 hitmaker has stated that if no-one comes forward to claim Dolly the dog, she'll take her back to the US...
Following the end of the festival last weekend, clean-up workers found the abandoned white lurcher and named it after the Jolene hitmaker, who headlined the Pyramid Stage at the event.
Now, Parton has stated: "I had my manager call the Happy Landings animal shelter to make sure the dog is being treated and cared for properly.
"At this time, nobody has claimed the dog and the dog is in great hands at the shelter. I will take her home to America if nobody claims her within a reasonable amount of time."
During an interview with Associated Press, the 68-year old also revealed that she was "honoured" and "flattered" that the lost dog had been named after her.
According to Digital Spy, Happy Landings has received many concerned calls from members of the public regarding doggy Dolly, after she was found in a hot tent with little food and no water.
Dolly - who has been described as a "sweet-natured older lady" - also arrived at the shelter with a serious ear infection, which has now been treated.
