Dr Dre Beats Beyoncé And One Direction As Highest-Paid Musician

The annual list is based on box office sales, royalties for recorded and published music, merchandise, endorsement deals and other business interests...

Dr. Dre has been announced as the highest paid musician of 2014, as part of the annual rich list compiled by Forbes.

The hip-hop mogul has racked up £395 million ($620m) this year before tax, which gives him the widest margin in history between the first and second spots on the list, according to Forbes.

The $3 billion sale of his co-founded business to Apple no doubt helped him beat the likes of Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber.

In the runner's up spot is Beyoncé who took home£73 million ($115m), after dropping her 'surprise' album, performing the Mrs Carter Show tour and securing deals with H&M and Pepsi.

The Eagles are third with £64 million ($100m), Bon Jovi fourth after earning £52 million ($82m) and Bruce Springsteen completes the top five with £51 million ($81m).
