With more performances from Playboi Carti, Lil Pump, Not3s and some fantastic surprise appearances!
Wireless Festival Days 1 & 2 gave us an overwhelming amount of once-in-a-lifetime moments and Sunday, Day 3, was no exception. It was massive.
At last minute, on the day, DJ Khaled dropped out and SO MUCH speculation was made as to who was going to replace him. We were worried after Khaled's departure nothing would give us redemption...well the signs were there and your guesses were right, Drake burst onto the stage at the end of Giggs’ set!
Yes indeed, Drizzy brought the energy and we had the views – so if you weren’t there, were the furthest thing from the front, or just need to relive the night, you can do so below!
SOUNDTRACK THESE WIRELESS BEST BITS WITH DRAKE’S ‘NICE FOR WHAT'
So, starting from the bottom, let's go through all the best bits of Wireless 2018 morning to night.
Not3s opened up the day with a set that was an absolute viiiiibe. He had the whole crowd dancing to his hit with Mabel ‘My Lover’.
He really set the crowd off with good vibes, and in a huge treat for fans he brought on AJ Tracey for his track Butterflies which Not3s features in. It’s safe to say the crowd absolutely loved it.
He had some exciting surprises in store for fans when he brought NSG to stage, followed by Maleek Berry! It was something truly special.
Of course, he pulled out his massive hit ‘Addison Lee’ and it went OFF.
The crowd all warmed up (literally, it was super-hot) and ready – Playboi Carti ran on to deliver some actual fire.
He ran on the stage to ‘Woke Up Like This’ which saw crowds going wild from the get-go.
Following that he brought out some massive tracks including his hit ‘Magnolia’. “Yo P’ierre you wanna come out here??”
On top of his own bangers, he played some tracks he’s featured in - as well as some he just clearly loves such as A$AP Rocky’s recent tracks ‘A$AP Forever’ and ‘Praise The Lord (Da Shine)’.
Lil Uzi Vert
The Philadelphia based rapper erupted roars from the crowd as he stormed onto stage to perform a high energy set.
Lil Uzi Vert pulled out ‘Bad And Boujee’ and the crowds LOVED it. Hearing his iconic ‘Yah Yah Yah’ in the intro to his verse in real life is something I recommend for everyone.
Lil Uzi had fans going IN for ‘XO Tour Llif3’ ie “All my friends are dead // Push me to the edge”.
SO much so that after he finished the track he RELOADED it and did the whole thing again!
He, like Ski Mask earlier in the day, paid tribute to XXXTentacion by playing his track ‘Look At Me’.
In a very exciting surprise for fans – he brought on Playboi Carti to perform ‘Shoota’ and he stayed on stage to support him no some more tracks for a good while!
He pulled out back to back hits, performing ‘Do What I Want’ to some massive hype.
The duo exploded onto the stage and had the crowd go absolutely WILD.
Swae & Jxmmi had the crowd fulling bopping to their hit ‘Swang’.
They played some tracks they feature on too, such as the Swae Lee featuring track 'Unforgettable' by French Montana.
The two encouraged fans to form mosh pits and go wild, but there were some wholesome vibes too as when some fans got too rowdy and aggressive Swae Lee exclaimed "No fighting at a Rae Sremmurd concert! Skrrt!"
Of course, they had crowds getting as excited as possible with ‘No Type’, and by running on with ‘Black Beatles’ playing.
Grime icon Giggs came on with a BANG.
As well as his own tracks, he brought out some other massive bangers like Baka Not Nice’s ‘Live Up To My Name’... and then Baka came to join him on stage which had the crowd going absolutely wild.
Another of his special guests to join him on the stage was British rapper Dave to perform their track ‘Peligro’ – which was something ELSE. The crowd were so excited at this point, so the appearance of the two together was FIRE.
He pulled out some classic Giggs bangers too, including ‘Talkin The Hardest’.
It felt like Giggs had brought every special guest possible - then, of course, came something truly special... he a final surprise guest came to the stage...
Surprise Guest... Drake!
Murmurings could be heard throughout the festival the ENTIRE weekend. When it was announced DJ Khaled wouldn’t be performing speculation was at its absolute highest – the words on everyone’s lips was “Is it going to be Drake?” and no one could quite believe it.
Until of course, a giant flag unrolled on the stage featurign the OVO owl with a Union Jack flag in its wing – and drake BURST onto the stage to the sound of his track with Giggs ‘KMT’ at which point every crowd member went berserk.
His set wasn’t too long, but in that time, he brought out the BANGERS. The crowd was hyped to an unreal degree when he played ‘God’s Plan’. We’ve seen a lot of excited crowds, but this was something special.
After all the speculation and rumours - the arrival of Drake had crowd excitement at the absolute peak. Well, that and of course just the fact that Drake was standing on stage before them.
He gave a first performance of a host of his brand-new songs from Scorpion too, including ‘Mob Ties’.
He thanked the crowds profusely, and was certain to remind everyone time and time again how much he loves London, and how it’s his home away from home.
Drake’s performance was something else – after all the tension of the crowds being uncertain if he’d actually turn up, this proved to be a show like no other.
So that's it from Wireless Festival 2018, we had such a fantastic time and whether you were there in the sun with us or just watching from home - we hope you enjoyed it too.
