Dwayne Johnson For New Robert Ludlum Novel Adaptation?
Fast & Furious star could head-up fresh franchise from creator of Jason Bourne books...
Dwayne Johnson is reported to be in the frame for the lead role in a movie adaptation of Robert Ludlum's The Janson Directive.
Variety reports that the Fast & Furious star is in the early stages of negotiation to appear as the "ethical" mercenary.
And sources have apparently suggested that movie studio Universal views the project as potentially developing into a franchise for part-time WWE star Johnson.
He would play a former dark ops agent who quits becuase of the high number of state-ordered killings - going freelance and only accepting jobs which he thinks are just.
Author Ludlum saw huge success when his Jason Bourne novels were adapted for the big screen with Matt Damon playing the amnesiac special agent.
Johnson will soon be seen in Hercules, in which he plays the mythical figure from ancient legend - and which is also viewed as a possible franchise prospect by the studio.
