Just when you thought the Baywatch movie reboot was dead in the ocean, along comes The Rock - as ever - to save the day.

Yep, it's been confirmed that Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is on board to help steer the remake of everyone's favourite scantily clad, naff 90s 'drama' into safer waters.

As ever, he was pretty effusive about the casting.

As if the appointment of Dwayne 'Man Who Can Save Even The Most Rubbish Of Projects' Johnson (*cough* Hercules *cough*) wasn't exciting enough, Paramount has also hired We're The Millers and Horrible Bosses 2 directors Sean Anders and John Morris to direct, and a new rewrite.
