John Cena And The Rock Will Re-team For This Big Movie
They’ve layed the smack down on one another in the WWE ring time and again, but it looks as though The Rock and John Cena will soon be going teaming up for a new movie. The news comes courtesy of Dwayne Johnson’s Insta-feed, on which he confirmed that Cena had been cast as the lead in his adaptation of The Janson Directive.
“Congrats to my good bud John Cena on landing the lead role for our movie, THE JANSON DIRECTIVE,” said Johnson. “A project that myself, @sevenbucksprod, our production partners and Universal Studios have been developing for years now.”
“Congrats man and I'm excited to go on this journey with you. Thank you for your commitment to the role and remember, as your producer if you screw up, I'm coming to set and droppin' the People's Elbow on ya. And you know first hand how devastating my elbow drops can be 😉💪🏾 Congrats my friend and let's go make a good one.”
Dwayne Johnson had originally been slated to take the starring role, before his busy schedule forced him to step down from the project. Instead he’ll be exec-producing the movie, which is an adaptation of the novel by Bourne Identity author Robert Ludlum. Fingers crossed we’ll see he and Cena sharing the screen sooner rather than later.
