Those hoping that The Rock could save us from a world where Donald Trump is president of the United States of America are out of luck.

The star has revealed that he will not run for president after all.

Fast and Furious stud Dwayne Johnson had seemingly joked that he would consider running for president in 2020 last year.

As months past - and Trump came to power - he then switched up a gear and said he would seriously like to run for government.

However he has now officially abandoned the plans to become a politician - and it’s all Kevin Hart’s fault as he has vowed to sabotage The Rock’s presidential plans.

“It's been very flattering. There’s been this really interesting uptick in public opinion, [people] wanting that to happen,” Dwayne said while promoting his new film Jumani: Welcome to the Jungle on The Graham Norton Show.

"The problem is that [Kevin Hart] will completely sabotage the campaign in 2020, 2024. He'll literally sabotage it from the inside,” Dwayne said.

And indeed, Kevin confirmed he would, saying: “100%. I will take you down. I don't want it to happen because it will make you that much better than me, and I just don't want it. I would sabotage it in a heartbeat."

Looks like it’s down to Oprah to run for President instead.
