Dylan O’Brien Reveals Struggle Of Returning To Work After ‘Maze Runner’ Accident
The actor was forced to halt filming after a serious accident left him injured.
Dylan O’Brien has opened up about the challenge he faced upon returning to work after being in a serious accident during filming of The Maze Runner.
The Teen Wolf actor was a hit by a car on set, leaving him badly hurt and with ‘facial lacerations and a concussion’.
But because he’s a true professional he didn’t let this stop him from getting back to work on American Assassin, explaining to ET recently that his leading role helped return to health.
"At the time that I came in, and what I was coming off of, I was still at the very end of recovery there when I started, so that was probably the biggest challenge," he said. "All the training was very good for my mind and very good for recovery, in a way. It became part of my daily schedule."
"It really ended up being [therapeutic]," he said. "It came at a great time for me."
Of course an accident like that can take a huge toll on someone on a personal level, as Dylan explained the massive part that the movie played in his recovery.
"The state that you're in after something like that, you just want to run from all that stuff," he said. "I didn't really even want to leave my couch necessarily when I was allowed to, so yeah, it was a big step doing this. I ultimately decided that I wanted to try it and I didn't want to let it go. [The movie] ended up being really instrumental in the whole process,” he said.
We're just glad our baby is back to his usual self.
