New Xbox Teased By Microsoft & We Can't Cope

It's rumoured to support VR.

It's almost here, the biggest gaming event of the year: E3 2016. Now, just days before the massive Los Angeles gaming show kicks off, Microsoft has teased a huge announcement that's rumoured to be a new Xbox One console.

Ahead of E3, Xbox marketing chief Mike Nichols said: "We are just days away from E3 2016 and we're excited to share more details on what Xbox fans can expect this year and beyond. We expect this to be a special E3."

Microsoft is expected to reveal a new version of its Xbox One console at the show. This is rumoured to be slimmer and may even have upgraded hardware that's capable of supporting a VR platform – more hardware Microsoft is rumoured to be launching.

Of course there is a chance that Microsoft is simply creating hype with this comment ahead of its new game announcements at the show. This is also going to be exciting with plenty of new titles teased for the year ahead. But now that the rumour mill has got us buzzing for a fancy new console, anything less is going to be a let down. And the fact that Xbox calls it "special" suggests something other than just games.

We'll be at E3 2016 from its start on 14 June to bring you coverage of all the excitement, check back to find out about everything that's coming soon!
