Xbox E3 2016 Highlights: New Xbox One S, Gears of War 4 & More
All the best bits Micorosoft just announced at E3 2016.
Famously the one time of year where Microsoft make all their new announcements, game reveals and more, Microsoft’s E3 conference was one to please Xbox fans!
Here are all the highights you need to know from Xbox's 2016 press conference, updated live as they happen.
Xbox One S
It's DAY ONE of E3 and we already have a NEW CONSOLE! The updated Xbox One is a gorgeous 40% slimmer, supports 4K, HDR gaming and has an integrated power supply. It'll go on sale for $299 in the US - so it's pretty affordable too!
Gears of War 4
Showing off the amazing new Horde 3.0 mode, the new Gears of War will come with the Xbox Play Anywhere feature - so when you buy it, you'll be able to play it across Xbox One and Windows 10 PC, with your progress and achievements shared across both platforms when it comes out on October 11th 2016. Nice!
Gears of War is joining the most played gighting game on Xbox One! General Raam is joining as a Killer Instinct character THIS WEEK and it looks totally sick.
Forza Horizon 3
Australia is the setting for Forza's next Horizon festival – and what an amazing world to drive through. Off road racing buggies, massive trophy trucks and a slick Lambo show off the racing across the Australian outback and the most scenic highways.
Xbox Live is about to become faster, thanks to new live servers. Exciting? Not so much. Useful? Very.
New features, such as background music so you can listen to your own music while you play.
Clubs on Xbox Live is a new community feature, where you can join likeminded fans to come back to and chat with.
Arena on Xbox Live is a brand new tournament platform, where you can compete solo or with friends in your fave games as well as sign up for tournaments from existing games, including FIFA.
Minecraft - 'The Friendly Update'
You can now play with your friends on Minecraft regardless of what platform you're all playing on. So if you're playing on your iPad, a friend playing on Xbox Live can join too!
We Happy Few
This looks TOTALLY creepy , very much bonkers and a lot of fun and we can’t WAIT to get our hands on it. In the gameplay shown off at E3, characters have to take a ‘joy’ drug in a reto-future UK 1960s setting. A heady mix of weird masks, creepy grainy footage, blood and mystery, we can’t wait to play this when it becomes available on July 26th.
Gwent: The Witcher Card Game
The creators of The Witcher 3 revealed that despite the game’s gigantic open world, players took a lot of time to just sit in the pub and play cards.
Now, Gwent, the card game from the massively popular Witcher 3 will now be available as a standalone Hearthstone-esque, cross platform multiplayer experience as well as a single player campaign. The closed beta will be coming in September. To the tavern!
