Eamon For No.1
American newcomer Eamon is set to land his first UK No.1 this Sunday, with a song which contains the word f**k 20 times.
The track, F**k It (I Dont Want You Back), has already sold 65,000 copies in only two days - more than double the next highest new entry, My Band by D12. The track has a grand total of 33 swear words, with s**t featuring 13 times. While the track has been described in some quarters as a ghetto version of Nothing Compares 2 U by Sinead O'Connor, Eamon is far from a gangster rapper; the 20-year-old is well educated and was brought up in a middle class family in New York.
Eamons single topped the charts in the US and he has been credited with creating his own genre called ho-wop - a combination of hip-hop and doo-wop. A US singer named Frankee, claiming to be Eamon's ex-girlfriend, has recorded a response track called 'FU Right Back', which uses new lyrics over Eamon's backing track.
