Danny Dyer has been recruited as the new landlord of the Queen Vic in EastEnders.
The East London-born actor, best-known for his roles in Nick Love's noughties lad-flicks, will play Shirley Carter's brother Mick in the long-running BBC soap.
And he will be joined behind the bar of the Albert Square local by Kellie Bright - playing his character's wife Linda.
They are set to arrive in December.
Dyer's last movie role was in the widely panned Run For Your Wife, and he was enthusiastic about his change of career path.
He said: "I'm so excited about starting a new chapter in my career and I cannot wait to become part of the East End family."
And Kellie added: "I'm very excited about joining the show.
"Not only am I looking forward to working with Danny but becoming Landlady of The Vic is a real honour."
