You might have been left with the impression that anacondas' favourite food is "buns" after hearing Nicki Minaj's song of the same name.

But the South American snakes - which can grow to enormous proportions - can eat large animals such as tapirs and deer whole. And there have been unconfirmed reports of humans being devoured too.

Now explorer and filmmaker Paul Rosolie is notching up a TV "first" (unlikely to be repeated in a hurry) by feeding himself to one of the reptiles for a Discovery Channel show.

The 30-year-old naturalist wore a specially designed snake-proof suit for the stunt - which is set to be broadcast next month in the documentary Eaten Alive. For now we just have a 30-second teaser trailer to whet our appetites.
