Back in August, Ed Sheeran revealed that he wanted to take a ‘long break’ from music and now we’re starting to understand why.

Clearly, Ed’s true passion lies in the wedding industry, because after he helped pal Jake Roche propose to his Little Mix girlfriend Jesy Nelson in the sweetest way possible, he now wants to become an ordained minister, apparently.

Yep, according to The Daily Star, Ed will soon be able to officiate weddings – and his first one will be his good friend Courtney Cox’s, who is engaged Snow Patrol star Johnny McDaid.

The Thinking Out Loud actually played matchmaker for Courtney and Johnny back when he was living in the Friends actress’s pool house (quite confusing), so this big gesture makes quite a bit of sense.

A source told the newspaper: “[Ed] had already agreed to perform a couple of ballads after they exchange vows, so it seemed logical to him that he should get them hitched too.

“He’s bursting with pride to have played matchmaker to Johnny and Court and he’s told them he’s up for anything that will help make their special day truly memorable.”

To be honest, we’re mainly just hoping this is true so that Ed can start officiating more celebrity weddings *cough* Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris *cough*.
