Ed Sheeran Is Going To Star In Game Of Thrones For The Cutest Reason Ever

THIS GUY.

Ed Sheeran is continuing to prove that 2017 really is his year, as it’s now been revealed that the singer will star in the upcoming seventh season of Game Of Thrones.

Show unners David Benioff and Dan Weiss broke the exciting news to fans at SXSW film festival in Austin, Texas on Sunday, explaining that the singer said yes to surprise super fan Maisie Williams.

“For years we were trying to get Ed Sheeran on the show to surprise Maisie and this year we finally did it,” Benioff said.

It’s not the first time that a singer has featured on the show, with the likes of Will Champion from Coldplay and Sigur Ros having also stepped up.

“A lot of [music artists] say they would they would like to [be on the show], and then we tell them [shooting a scene] is so boring,” Weiss said. “‘You’re gonna hate this — you’re going to be sitting around three days for 12 hours a day.'”

But of course Ed, being the ridiculously nice guy he is, didn’t mind at all.

“He was a super good sport about it,” Weiss added.

While the Shape of You chart topper confirmed the news his end via Twitter, simply writing: ‘Guess the cats out the bag…’.

This is all so cute and nice, why can’t every Monday be like this?
