Ed Sheeran Drops Lyric Video To ‘Galway Girl’, His Irish Folk Song, On Saint Patrick’s Day (Obvs)

Well when else would he release it?

Ed Sheeran’s take on an Irish folk song, ‘Galway Girl’, has just received the single treatment. (A lyric video, for now.)

Released on Saint Patrick’s Day, Ireland’s current Number One is nowprobably going to right up there, thanks to the all-conquering ‘Ed Sheeran effect’, in the top spotfor the next three decades.

‘Galway Girl’, a song all about a couple meeting in an Irish pub, getting a little tipsy and having a bloody great time - “Kissed her on the neck and then I took her by the hand / Said, "Baby, I just want to dance,"” - foreshadows what a lot of (drunk) people will be getting up to in precisely four hours time.

Please allow your eyeballs to drift down and have a look at Ed's 'Galway Girl' video. HIT PLAY.

Speaking of the ‘Ed Sheeran effect’, the Suffolk-born singer is still dominating the charts after releasing the fastest-selling album by a male artist ever.
