Ed Sheeran Makes Surprise Appearance At London's Barfly And Reveals He’s ‘Freaking Out’ Ahead Of Huge Wembley Shows
We want Ed to be our BFF...
Ed Sheeran made a surprise visit to the Barfly in Camden on Thursday night, proving he is still just an amazingly down to earth guy.
The tiny North London venue was being headlined by Jamie Lawson, an up and coming singer-songwriter who has recently signed to Sheeran’s own record label, Gingerbread Man Records.
Sheeran cosied up to Lawson on stage during his performance, and also treated fans to an impromptu jam session in the beer garden of the Lock Tavern bar. Oh how we wish we were there.
Luckily Jamie Lawson managed to capture Ed joining him on stage, check out the video on his Facebook below:
Ed will play three massive sold out shows at Wembley Stadium this weekend (July 10-12) and in a recent interview on the Capital London Breakfast Show, he revealed that he is completely freaking out:
“The thing that freaks me out is someone said it’s twice the size of Glastonbury.” He then added: “I’m going to namedrop for one second – I just got a call in the car from Elton John who was talking about the gig [tonight], and he was like ‘How are you feeling about it?’ and I was like ‘I’m quite nervous, when was your first stadium?’
"And he said ‘My first stadium was Wembley Stadium, and I decided not to play any hits and play a whole new album that nobody had ever heard and it was probably the worst decision’. So yeah, he did it, I’m not going to do it.”
The 'Photograph' hitmaker also confirmed on the radio show that he is very much single. Ladies... form an orderley queue!
Loving can hurt sometimes
But it's the only thing
That I know.
And when it gets hard
You know it can get hard sometimes
It is the only thing that makes us feel alive.
We keep this love in a photograph
We make these memories for ourselves
Where our eyes are never closing
Hearts are never broken
And time's forever frozen still.
So you can keep me
Inside the pocket
Of your ripped jeans
Holdin' me closer
Till our eyes meet
You won't ever be alone
Wait for me to come home.
Loving can heal
Loving can mend your soul
And is the only thing
That I know (know)
I swear it will get easier
Remember that with every piece of ya
And it's the only thing we take with us when we die.
We keep this love in a photograph
We make these memories for ourselves
Where our eyes are never closing
Our hearts were never broken
And time's forever frozen still.
So you can keep me
Inside the pocket
Of your ripped jeans
Holdin' me closer
Till our eyes meet
You won't ever be alone.
And if you hurt me
Well that's okay baby only words bleed
Inside these pages you just hold me
And I won't ever let you go.
Wait for me to come home
Wait for me to come home
Wait for me to come home
Wait for me to come home.
Oh you can fit me
Inside the necklace you got when you were 16
Next to your heartbeat
Where I should be
Keep it deep within your soul.
And if you hurt me
Well that's okay baby only words bleed
Inside these pages you just hold me
And I won't ever let you go.
When I'm away
I will remember how you kissed me
Under the lamppost
Back on 6th street
Hearing you whisper through the phone
Wait for me to come home.
Host Dave Berry said he’s going to ask him ‘awkward questions about [his] love life’ to which Ed responded: “It’s actually non-existent at the moment. I’m not in anything.”
He added that he’s been too busy to think about his break-up saying: “I’m still in my working space. I haven’t really has time to sit back and reevaluate personal life, because I don’t really have a personal life.”
Aww Ed! We’re here if you need a hug! We’re sure you’re going to smash those Wembley shows this weekend and who needs girlfriends when you're an international superstar, eh?
