‘Sing’ leads this week’s Official Chart Update while the Stephen Sutton charity single storms into the Top 5...

How has this not happened before? Ed Sheeran is officially on course to score his first UK No.1 single this weekend with Sing!

Ed, who stars in his own MTV documentary Nine Days & Nights Of Ed Sheeran next Wednesday at 10pm on MTV Music, currently leads this week’s Official Chart Update with the first official single from his forthcoming sophomore album X selling 72,000 copies this week so far.

Elsewhere in the midweek update Sam Smith refuses to budge from No.2 with Stay With Me, while current chart-topper SecondCity falls two places to No.3 with I Wanna Feel.

Mr Probz hangs fire at No.4 with Waves while the Stephen Sutton charity single Hope Ain’t A Bad Thing by Neon Brotherhood enters at No.5.

Guitarist and engineer on the track Tom Drover said: “The idea was hatched when Stephen posted his ‘thumbs up’ picture. We all decided to come together to do something for Ste, one of the things on his bucket list was to have a charity single.

“On behalf of The Neon Brotherhood, it’s a massive achievement for Stephen, and a massive achievement for the Teenage Cancer Trust. The Neon Brotherhood thanks everyone for their support and we hope we can get it to Number 1 for Ste!”

Klingande’s Jubel slips to No.6 while John Legend also falls to No.7 with All Of Me.

At No.8 is Rita Ora’s I Will Never Let You Down with Fuse ODG slipping to No.9 with Dangerous Love Ft. Sean Paul.

Lethal Bizzle rounds off this week’s Top 10 with The Drop Ft. Cherri Voncelle.
