Ed Sheeran Used In Super Bowl Charity Scam

Allegedly, a man posed as Ed Sheeran's manager to scam The Giving Back Fund.

A man pretending to be Ed Sheeran’s manager has allegedly scammedThe Giving Back Fund, an American charity.

TMZ reports that the scammer contacted the charity posing as Ed Sheeran’s manager. The man proposed Sheeran would two perform at the non-profit’s pre-Super Bowl event in Houston on Feb. 4 for four VIP tickets to the big fame the following day. The scammer went to such lengths that he even presented a fraudulent performing contract with Sheeran's forged signature.

The man met with the charity beforehand to accept the tickets, which are worth around $50,000. The Giving Back Fund never saw him again, or Sheeran, who was touring in Australia at the time.

When the charity discovered that Sheeran was in fact on the other side of the world, they contacted the police, who informed them that the tickets had been sold on. If the scammer is ever court, they will face felony charges.

The Giving Back Fund is a non-profit charity designed to encourage and facilitate charitable giving and deeds from pro athletes, celebrities and more.
