Ed Sheeran Writing Adele-Inspired Heartbreak Album
Ed Sheeran has revealed that his next album will be full of tracks inspired by the breakdown of a four-year relationship.
The chart-topper said he had taken inspiration from Adele, whose 21 album is full of songs about her ex-boyfriend, and added that he hoped the heartfelt lyrics would help sell more records. Adele’s 21 has sold 10 million copies since its release earlier this year.
Ed said: “I've just got out of a four-year relationship so I'll base the whole album around the break-up and hopefully sell as many copies as she [Adele] does.”
The A-Team singer added that he had completed “90% of the backbone” of his next LP, which would have a rockier sound than his debut, +. "It's going to have a bigger sound, it'll be more guitar-based and I'm looking forward to getting stuck into it," he said.
Ed recently revealed that he celebrated going to No 1 with his LP by [uuid=afeae4dd-aedb-4154-b14b-3dc7218027e7]building Star Wars Lego[/uuid] with Harry Styles from One Direction!
He has also announced details of a UK tour, which kicks off in Edinburgh on 10 January and also takes in Manchester, Wolverhampton and London. More dates are expected to be announced.
